- Taos Soundscapes and musicologist/keyboardist Claire Detels present the 5th annual Taos Great Women Composers concert at First Presbyterian Church of Taos on Saturday, Mar. 9 and Sunday Mar. 10, at 3 PM. This Women’s History Month celebration will feature a quadricentennial tribute to Baroque composer Barbara Strozzi (1619-77) with Strozzi scholar and Los Alamos resident Candace Magner on Baroque guitar, Sarah Manthey from Albuquerque on viola da gamba, Detels on harpsichord, mezzo-soprano Elizabeth Calvert and tenor Mark Jackson. Soundscapes Artistic Director and cellist Rebecca Caron and Detels will also perform movements from Kashperova’s Sonata for Cello and piano.
